Job Purpose
Candidate will be responsible for building PPM America’s third party asset management business. The successful individual will be charged with developing new institutional clients, consultants, OCIO and sub-advisory relationships leveraging the firm’s existing capabilities. Essentially, the role will be dedicated to all aspects of client acquisition, retention and cross-selling, with the strongest emphasis placed on building a long term sustainable external client base supported by superior client service. • Build and lead a focused, effective institutional sales and consultant relations team while leveraging established relationships to gain entry and access to relevant decision-makers and asset owners/consultants. • Develop a complete understanding of PPMA’s investment strategies, processes and philosophy and passionately articulate PPMA’s broad investment capabilities with internal and external constituents and prospective clients with the goal of raising external AUM in 3-5 years—or sooner with “early adopter” clients. • Develop and execute a strategic, workable sales plan consistent with expected and reasonable goals, investment capabilities and culture of the firm. • Proactively identify, create and progress new business opportunities with relevant asset owners and consultants. • Successfully represent the firm as differentiated investment thought leader • Help shape the firm’s messaging and strategy; engage various constituents in PPMA in relation to market/industry developments, trends and competitive positioning • Evaluate relevant industry trends, product innovations, regulatory concerns and competitive environment to help shape and identify opportunities and new product ideas within PPMA.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Have a proven track record in an institutional sales capacity of at least 15+ year in a sales leadership role.

Strong network and knowledge base of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 level consultants.

History of bringing various channel opportunities to final presentations.

Track record of success building new strategies and products to market.

Ability to navigate the sales cycle through various market environments.

Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

The ability to drive for results, setting and achieving dramatic and compelling goals and schedules.

In-depth understanding about financial markets and the ability to clearly discuss investment techniques, strategies and concepts

The candidate will possess a strong and proven senior level institutional sales/consultant relations track record with the ability to confidently communicate and be an advocate for PPM’s broad investment strategies across a wide range of sophisticated institutional clients.

Strong sales leadership, business building, public speaking, organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with high energy are critically important to the role as are the ability to be flexible and adaptable.

Strong relationship history with building direct plan sponsor relationships and meeting campaigns within channels that align with PPM strategies.

Ability to show a strong history of building and managing a pipeline of opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.
-
Master’s Degree advanced degree and/or CFA preferred.

Experience working with wide variety of asset owners regarding asset allocation requirements, risk parameters/budgets and to demonstrate the ability to establish substantial relationships with senior levels of authority across the institutional investor base. required.

FINRA Licenses 7, 66, or 7, 63,65 within 180 Days required.
