Job Overview/Purpose:
The Capital Markets professional will be expected to engage in supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of Debt Capital Markets activity, particularly senior secured leveraged loans in the marketing regions for Rabobank’s North American wholesale offices, including with clients in the Trade and Commodity Finance and Project Finance business.
Responsibilities include maintaining/updating comparable deals database; preparing pitch books, offering memoranda, internal underwriting and syndication memoranda; supporting team members in winning mandates, syndicating to investor clients and closing debt transactions, and interfacing with middle office and financial control personnel. The role requires attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data. As an integral part of a growing team, the candidate will need to be a self-starter.
Job Requirements:
The candidate will ideally have some experience in either capital structuring, financial modelling or credit analysis. In addition, ability to construct PowerPoint presentations is needed. Strong organizational and communication skills and a proven ability to function well in a team environment are also extremely important.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Draft pitch books, proposals, term sheets 35%
Create offering memos and lender presentations 20%
Update and maintain comps and market info 20%
Write and present underwriting and syndication memos 15%
Track and maintain periodic business performance reports 10%
Key Relationships:
Internal: Sector Bankers, Relationship Managers, Credit and Risk, Capital Markets and other internal advisory and product groups (e.g. M&A), RaboResearch, Senior Management
External: CFO’s, Treasurers, Bank and Institutional Investors, Attorneys, consultants and other service providers related to financing transactions
Essential Job Skills and Knowledge:
Prefer 1-2 years work experience in a financial services environment.
Knowledge and experience in credit analysis. Familiar with procedures and facts relevant to a loan syndication professional within Rabobank. Will be required to complete NASD Series 79 and 63 licensing. Thorough understanding of all relevant banking regulations, Bank policies and limits, and Bank products.
Minimum BS/BA with business (preferably Finance/Acctg) major.
Completion of bank lending and/or credit training program would be a plus.

Effectively represents the Bank in developing and maintaining viable relationships with the desired customer base. Assists with client relationships and supports efforts to obtain the mandate to execute/structure financial transactions. Ensures successful conclusion of transactions, including as necessary the negotiation and documentation.
