Department Overview:
· Legal team of regulatory and transactional attorneys supporting all Global Markets businesses, including Equities, Rates, Credit, FX, Securitized Products and various Solutions businesses
Role description:
· Work closely with the Business with respect to the structuring, sale, negotiation, documentation and execution of a wide range of products, with a primary focus on mortgage structured finance and lending businesses (including repurchase transactions, securitizations and whole loan trading) within the Global Markets division
· Advise and assist in the creation, structuring, regulatory analysis and launch of new products and businesses within structured finance
· Interpret, educate and assist with the implementation of regulatory changes that impact structured finance businesses
· Advise the Business, Risk, Operations, IT, Compliance and others internally regarding legal and regulatory issues, developments and risks relating to structured finance products and businesses
· Assist with ongoing advocacy efforts relating to regulatory changes impacting structured finance businesses
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
· Strong structured finance experience (e.g. asset-backed lending, secured or unsecured credit facilities, repurchase transactions, securitizations, trade finance, insurance solutions, project finance, direct lending transactions)
· Familiarity with corporate, securities, creditor, finance and bankruptcy laws and related issues
· Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
· Ability to work independently and respond proactively to business needs
· Strong team player
