The Account Manager for Proprietary Market Data represents the NYSE proprietary exchange data business to a wide variety of US equity and options market participants to promote NYSE market data adoption and subscription. The candidate will manage relationships spanning numerous client types, ranging from trading and transactions participants to retail applications and indirect users via third party platforms and services.
The successful candidate will have a “hunter” type of profile and a background with emphasis on new customer sales and generating new revenue within existing accounts. This role is ideally suited to a self-motivated individual who relishes being at the forefront of business activities and thrives on their own successes and those of the team.
Assist in managing and executing on strategies to exceed assigned business quota and support the overall sales process.
Interact daily, both in person and remotely, with an assigned group of clients to ensure that our offerings and policies are clearly understood to maximize client subscription and engagement.
Actively prospect new clients to expand NYSE Proprietary Data adoption for new logos.
Proactively and continually develop relationships with clients.
Engage customers to understand their business and market data consumption to ensure the proper data subscription licensing and commercial models are in place.
Communicate data product and policy updates to clients in a timely fashion and partner with product and business teams to gather feedback on such updates.
Support every aspect of the life-cycle of market data licensing process from on-boarding to monthly maintenance and account closure.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape.
Assist with product specifications, fee schedules, and other customer facing documentation.
Accurately and effectively communicate in team meetings and to executive management regarding the customer and market landscape.
Collaborate with internal colleagues (connectivity, transactions, finance, legal) and advance NYSE’s agenda across businesses.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
A deep understanding of the equity market data industry is critically important
Experience in the Exchange and/or Market Data Vendor and/or Electronic Trading domain space is preferred
5+ years of account management, sales, or client facing experience with a proven track record of success
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional poise, judgment and the ability to constantly learn from and adapt to the marketplace
Proven track record in quota-bearing roles including successful support or execution of complex sales and negotiations
Demonstrated ability to hunt within sales territory and build strong relationships with key client stakeholders
Detail oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to accelerate the sales process; generating leads, managing the proposal process, overcoming objections
Knowledge of trading, compliance, risk and post trade portfolio valuation uses cases
Previous experience of developing relationships from a cold call or networking activity is highly desirable
Collaborative, team-oriented player with drive to contribute to individual and group results
Proficient in pipeline management and forecasting
Fluency with MS PowerPoint & Excel and Salesforce CRM
Proven ability in developing client relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional poise, judgment and a willingness to constantly maintain an educated perspective on the marketplace
