The Financial Markets Group analyzes public policy issues in financial markets from multiple perspectives. The group applies legal, market practitioner, technological and other expertise to study challenges and risks in financial markets and infrastructures.
Reporting to the Vice President of Financial Markets you will conduct applied research on public policy issues in financial markets. You will focus on emerging technologies and technology risk for markets, market operators, and clearinghouses. Examples of areas of interest could include but are not limited to: cybersecurity, distributed ledger, digital currencies, payment systems, climate change impact on systemic stability You will collaborate with other group members to identify emerging risks and challenges in financial market institutions and infrastructures, especially those of greatest importance to the Reserve Bank, the Federal Reserve System, and the financial system as a whole. You will communicate research findings to Reserve Bank and System officials in policy briefings and to other regulators, industry leaders, and the general public through public presentations and published reports.
This position will be based in Chicago but will be remote into the summer of 2021
