Full Job Description

 Women in Derivatives (WIND) is seeking a motivated and self-starting individual, who thrives on knowledge and expression and work well in a small team to join us as our Digital Media Intern.

The role involves creating exciting, relevant content and helping with developing a marketing strategy for WIND, a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate should be able to source stories and articles independently, help formulate effective email marketing strategies, work on multiple events’ logistics (mostly virtual), and undertake exciting projects with senior women in the financial industry.

As a WIND Digital Media Intern, you are a trusted team member with responsibilities to support and expand our marketing programs and help increase our digital footprint. You will shadow key members of the WIND team and discover what it is like to work in a fast-paced organization focused on having fun while doing great work for our membership.

As an example, we are working on our inaugural WIND Awards Gala and Fundraiser event, which is an excellent opportunity to help bring to life a wonderful event celebrating accomplished women.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn not just about the financial industry and marketing strategies but also to get involved and network with one of the industry’s foremost and established non-profit women’s organization.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Video editing – Plus
  • Proficient with Social Media such as LinkedIn, Instagram, You Tube, Twitter
  • Assist with Website Media Content – update website with news, events and other relevant content
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task & work under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Availability – 2 to 3 days per week
  • 6 months commitment
  • Must be a student
  • Keeps up with news and trends in the digital media world
  • Rapidly adopts new technologies, processes and tools
  • Actively takes initiative on independent and team projects

About WIND:

Women in Derivatives (WIND) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to attract, retain, educate and develop female leaders in the financial industry. We provide targeted channels for education, mentoring leveraging senior leaders within the financial industry. WIND currently has more than 5,000 members in NYC, London, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles and many more cities globally. Women who work in the financial industry, who consist of women with a range of backgrounds, positions and seniority. Our participants include people in trading, sales, law, economics, portfolio management, risk, marketing, research, academia, government, operations and technology. WIND was established in 2007.
