fixed income division is located primarily in Merrimack,
NH, with an investment team of more than 20
professionals located in Fidelity’s London office. At

macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to inform
investment decisions aimed at maximizing riskadjusted total returns.
The Position
Fidelity is seeking to hire a Quantitative Analyst to join
its fixed income division in London as a member of our
global fixed income investment team. The analyst will develop quantitative tools and models to support
Fidelity’s global and international fixed income investment process. The analyst will sit on the trading desk and
work closely with the portfolio managers and traders. Fidelity’s investment process is team-based, relying on
constant communication and collaboration. The analyst will be embedded within the investment team and
expected to engage regularly with other members of that team. The analyst will also be expected to collaborate
closely with other members of the quantitative research team and the technology group based primarily in the
US and will be expected to travel to the US occasionally. The analyst will provide critical support to the global
fixed income team in the management of multi-currency portfolios that invest across a wide range of
instruments and markets. Ideally, the analyst will have strong quantitative, programming and database skills
with the ability to think analytically, communicate clearly and work collaboratively
The analyst will report to the Managing Director of Research for the London Fixed Income Research Team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the role include:
(i) build robust quantitative tools to support investment decision-making, portfolio construction and
portfolio analysis;
(ii) monitor, measure and attribute portfolio risks and returns;
(iii) take initiative to advance the investment process;
(iv) understand, maintain and improve the investment process infrastructure;
(v) collaborate closely with other members of the quantitative research team and technology group;
(vi) explain complex quantitative concepts to non-technical people; and
(vii) support the portfolio managers on projects and ad hoc requests.

eager to collaborate in a team-based process and who is also comfortable operating independently as our only
fixed income quantitative analyst in London (connected to the US quantitative research team).

Qualifications
 Advanced degree in a discipline of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
 Industry experience as a quantitative analyst
 Programming experience
 Strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to work in a team environment
 Familiarity with fixed income securities and fixed income markets
 Good working knowledge of MATLAB, Excel/VBA, Python and relational databases
 Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
