Carlotta King is Associate General Counsel of Managed Funds Association, where she is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and commenting on issues and developments affecting the alternative investment industry. Carlotta focuses primarily on U.S. and international derivatives matters as well as issues related to the registration and regulation of investment advisers. Carlotta is the Women in Derivatives Committee Board Secretary.
Carlotta was previously an associate at Dechert LLP in Washington, DC, where she practiced in the firm’s Financial Services Group, representing registered and unregistered investment advisers, including hedge fund and private equity fund managers, registered investment companies and other industry participants. As part of her practice, Carlotta assisted with the organization and offering of alternative investment vehicles, advised on and negotiated derivatives and other trading documentation, structured investments in alternative investment vehicles, and provided regulatory and other advice related to alternative investment vehicles. Prior to joining Dechert LLP, Carlotta was an associate in the Investment Management Group of Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, NY. Carlotta received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2003 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in 2000. Carlotta is a member of the New York and District of Columbia bars.
